Just what's on my mind today...

Link/Tip of the day:

The United States has carried on foreign intelligence activities since the days of George Washington but only since World War II have they been coordinated on a government-wide basis. Three programs have highlighted the development of coordinated basic intelligence since that time: (1) the Joint Army Navy Intelligence Studies (JANIS), (2) the National Intelligence Survey (NIS), and (3) The World Factbook.

More boring stuff about my life....

Things have been busy.

I have a new job. I am in training now and have been the past few days. I think I will like it. I will be on my own starting Wednesday of next week. Fun.

Jackie's computer now resides in my living room. We brought it from her mom's house the other day. I had her backup everything she wanted to keep, and then I installed XP Pro. Her computer has been randomly bluescreening with a STOP error for the PCIIDEX.SYS driver. Bleh. Remind me to never buy a computer with a SiS chipset.

After seeing how her computer ran so smoothly with a fresh install (besides the aforementioned bluescreens), I decided to do the same to my PC. It's been more than 6 months, which is my recommended "FDISK, format, re-install.... (Doo-dah, doo-dah!)" schema. Oh, Fuck(tm) whomever writes spyware, adware and other malware. Fuck you all.

Kudos to the writers of spyware and adware removers, especially those that offer their product for FREE.

I haven't heard from some of my friends here in Denver in a while. I think I need to call them! I am such a slacker when it comes to making the calls, though. Argh.

I have had a lot of ups and downs recently when it comes to my depression. I am not sure what is up with that, as I have been taking my medication regularly and as prescribed. At least Jackie has been there for me. Not just been there -- she's also _put up with_ my bouts of crying. ::yay Jackie!::

Jackie's mom won a double-barrel shotgun manufactured by Beretta. She doesn't want to keep it, so I took a bunch of pics and will try to help her sell it. Supposedly, it is worth a pretty penny as it is a Beretta, and it is brand new and never been fired. Hopefully she'll get what she wants out of it.

Oh well, enough babbling.

More boring stuff about my life....

Things are going OK.

I went to a friend from RTD's house and helped him clean up his PC. He had the Beagle worm and Netsky virus on it, and it had a lot of programs and things he didn't use on it, so I did the full-on cleanup on it. It took over 5 hours because his DSL was sloooow.... He paid me in cash, and then the next day at work he gave me some more money in my mailbox because he was so happy with the responsiveness of his computer. Nice.

Things with Jackie and I are going well, too. She has been staying at my place the past week or so and we are getting along just great. She is truly an amazing person to be able to put up with me.

I am going on an interview today, and will probably fill out a few additional job applications while I am out. RTD's schedule is really starting to get on my nerves.

My friends Ci and D are moving soon. They called me up and said... "Remember when we helped you move? Paaaaaayyyyyback time...." LOL! They are a riot. Of course I will help them move.

I got a call from an old friend from High School, N. She is down in Georgia still in school working on her thesis. Sounded pretty complicated to me when she rattled off the name. We talked for a good 30 minutes to catch up on each other's lives. Our conversation made me realize how long it's been since high school -- more than 10 years. It also made me realize how much I miss home.

Well, I have to run, Jackie is making me some breakfast, and I have to get read for my interview!

More boring stuff about my life....

It's been a while. Life has been very busy for me recently....

Work goes well. I had an accident a few weeks ago that was my fault (I took a mirror off of my bus by clipping an abandoned tractor trailer on an interstate highway). Mirror + trailer @ 55mph = much glass, everywhere. The mirror was torn off the mirror arm and thrown into the windshield, which caused the windshield to shower glass over the front two rows of seats. I was brushing glass shards out of my hair for quite a while. When I got home and took off my shoes, there were several pieces of glass in them as well! Luckily, nobody was hurt, and I had no passengers on board.

The accident review board went extremely well -- I didn't even get any "points" for it.

Halloween was fun! I went out with my friends to several bars. Pics available here. J was a bus driver (she wore my uniform), Ci was a nun and D was a flasher/dirty old man. I got dressed up with the help of my friend Ci. She let me borrow a wig of hers that many people have said they like better than my normal hair. It was fun playing with the long wig, but I am not too sure about the color.

My relationship with J is getting better and better. This is a Good Thing(tm). Her mom rocks, too. Her mom Just Gets It(tm). She gave me an early Christmas present. As she handed it to me, she said, "because I know you've always wanted one..." It was a doll. She was right, of course. I think it is one of the best presents I have ever received.

My ex started giving out my new contact info to people, even though she promised she wouldn't when I left. I have changed my phone number because of this. Luckily, she doesn't know my address. I am glad I have kept it from her now, because moving is a much bigger pain in the ass than changing my phone number. If you are a friend and would like my new phone number, feel free to e-mail me (click the "contact" link at the top of this page).

I interviewed with a company back in DC for a computer job. I think the interview went pretty well. They said they would get back to me within three weeks.

I applied for three computer jobs within RTD. RTD has a policy of hiring from within, so hopefully I will hear back from them to schedule an interview soon.

Anyway, I am tired. I promise I will try to update this blog more regularly.
